Oilers Game 7, +140. +EV?

CAROLINA UNDER 5.5 -130 -160

I'm thinking the Oilers are at worst a 50/50 here and that a +140 (WSEX) line is a great EV bet. If you saw Game 6 you'll know what I mean. I'm sure the Canes will bring more to Game 7, but should the Oil really be dogs at all? Am I a lone, or what does 2+2 think? Tell me before I bet $200 on the Oil.

Absolutely. I've already bought a couple contracts at +143 on the WSEX long term markets bet.

I'm not a regular sports bettor. Isn't this a bit odd that you can get better payoff with essentially the same bet on the same site?

I had $300 on Carolina for the series. When they were up 3-1 heading back to Carolina I thought I may as well get Edmonton at +1200 for 25 bucks just in case the Canes pull a Phil Mickelson-like choke. Am I glad I did that. I think the Canes will win, but I definitely support your decision to pick up the Oil at +155. They're playing really well.

history is not on their side. while the home ice is generally not as important as other sports, in game 7's the home team has a prohibitive record.
I won't take +140, but if it gets to +165 or +170ish, I might bite. Carolina seems beat up. (one never really knows in hockey) I think edmonton may just score ugly and hold on.
