A river bluff raise with a decent hand
This is from the blogger championship. Villain has been pretty straight forward, hasn't been out of line at all yet. I haven't shown a hand yet, I've stolen slightly more than my share of blinds. We're down to ~425, start getting prizes at 54 I think.

Re: A river bluff raise with a decent hand
I don't like it against these bets. It's not out of the question for something like 89s to make this PF move, since if anyone tags along for the ride they (normally) have some outs. I'd have fired back on the flop to see where you were. Villian playing in line doesn't make this any prettier, either.

mmmmm.... the fact he's not been outta line worries me here, looks like he might be begging for a raise from you? I'm interested in the outcome! Nice play if u pulled it off.

Re: A river bluff raise with a decent hand
This is clever. I think he probably has a high pocket pair, and is scared of the flush. Your bluff raise is +EV if it's against a good opponent.

Re: A river bluff raise with a decent hand
I like it, his bets are screaming "cheap showdown plz" and you could easily have an 8 in your hand (or some weird runner flush).
Plus, if CO is donkish enough he might make a heroic call with A7 or something. How's that for some rose-colored glasses? |
