Default Cheating in a home game...

Hi,

I think this is my first ever topic, how exciting.

Anyway, We have had a regular game usually .25/.25 or .25/.50 going for about a year with the same general players but lots of casual players play on occassion as well. Recently I noticed one of the players cheating (changing the next card after the flop to help his hand).

It was perhaps the most obvious thing I have ever seen but some how no one else noticed (maybe they did? but i dont think so). Said cheater is a very good friend of mine and would not like to jeopardise a friendship over a few bucks (which is why I didn't publicly shame him then and there)

So my question is this.

What is the best approach?

If you are picking options 1 or 2 I would really appreciate a short comment.

Thanks!
