interesting hand. i agree with not raising the flop or turn. i also like the river check against a player who should be solid/excellent as villains stats and your reads suggest. he shouldnt be calling this river bet with anything you beat as the only hand he can hope to beat is 99 or under and youd have to cap preflop with those.

I think there`s enough hands we are ahead of (even if villain decides to bet 3bet) to raise somewhere - I`d do it on the flop.

You're missing a lot of value here.

i feel like i'm not a 2:1 favorite when he donks into me on the flop and JJ or worse isn't 3betting. He also might call and checkraise the turn so i really need to be more than a 2:1 fav

MP has a 21 PFR. You don't think his range is wide enough that you're ahead as often as not? Granted, the PFR was a 3-bet, but still. We lose to AA/KK/TT. We beat 88/99/JJ, maybe AK?

well the point is that i think a good player is much more likely to donk his strongest hands against a good player looking to 3bet.

I think this effect is so strong that I am no longer a 2:1 fav over his donking range ... but hey i could be wrong, I'm only a llama!
