Hand 1 I can somewhat understand, but hand 2 sucks. Why push with pocket eights? Did you have any reads?

Hand 1 - Hero's in the CO with a very good holding. Pushing here is WAY over the top - it basically screams "I won't play post flop! No way! Under any circumstances! To save my [censored] life!"

EDIT - Whoops, first thought Hero was on Button. Doesn't change the fact that Hero needs call here.

1 - Flat Call, bet heavy if you hit the A or K
2 - Not a good push with your stack. A call is debatable cause you need to fold to any raise that comes back at you. You can fold this in early position at an $11, much better opps. to make money at the 100/200 lvl. than middle PP in EP.

Initially I thought hand 2 was not as bad (with ~500 less chips you could justify if UTG+1 was prone to limping early).

#1 is a too much. call, play post
#2 isn't that bad honestly (though a bit risky for my tastes).

#1) It's far too early to risk getting called by 33 in this spot. Call, take a flop, and reevalute. You're in position, which is lovely.

#2) This is not terrible. I probably push 99 here, and TT for sure. Picking up t500 (i.e. almost 25% of hero's stack) would be great.

I flat call hand one and evaluate the flop. I could see maybe pushing if you were in the SB or BB.
I don't like pushing 88 here maybe if you were alittle shorter in chips I would feel the need to gamble.
