Default Hitting Batters

White Sox/ Rangers game tonight... In AJ Pierzynski's first two AB's, Vincente Padilla beans him on the first pitch both times. Second time it got pretty obvious it was intentional. Home plate umpire warns both benches. Standard play, I thought.

White Sox announcers rip the umpire for warning the Sox bench. White Sox postgame guys rip the umpire for warning the Sox bench. What the [censored]? Aren't they there to keep control of the game?

The announcers were saying "They just took away our chance to retaliate" What, are the umps gonna say "Ok, Texas, you can't hit anyone anymore, White Sox, go ahead and even the score? Seriously...what the hell?

Although looks like Guillen sent rookie Sean Tracey out to hit Blalock. He faced only him. Before the first pitch, AJ points right at Blalock before giving the sign. First pitch was high and tight, but didn't connect. Blalock grounds out and Ozzie immediatly brought in another pither. They show Ozzie yelling and then show Tracey on the bench with his head down and his jersey convering his face, obviously crying. He's already been sent back to Triple A.

White Sox announcers are quite possibly the dumbest people and biggest homers in MLB.

If a pitcher blasts one of your hitters TWICE, you have to retaliate, regardless of what the ump says. That [censored] doesn't fly.

Ozzie sent the kid out to do a job, and he didn't do it. Up and in isn't the same thing as throwing at or behind someone. Do what your manager tells you - he will protect you in the game.

The guy wasn't crying.

Like Kyle said, you have to protect your players no matter what the umpires do. If one of your players (or your players in general) are getting hit intentionally, and more than once, you have to send a message to the other team. If you lose a pitcher b/c of it, so what, that isn't even close to the point. The umpires were correct in warning both sides, that is their job and what they are taught to do...and the "best" way to "try" and control a situation and keep it from escalating into something worse. Now warning both sides won't work a lot of times, simply b/c the game still has to be played but it is still the umpires job to do so, so don't listen to those announcers they are [censored] stupid.

Ozzie Guillen is a piece of [censored].

Throwing at somebody intentionally should NEVER be ok and I really dislike that baseball doesn't deal with crap like this with more agression.

I understand why tdarko and kyle are saying what they're saying, but I just hate the mentality that it stems from. The notion that you "have" to retaliate is some stupid retarded macho [censored] that should've died ages ago.
