Stars $22/180 Time to gamble???
BB has went all-in 3 of last 10 hands and my stack is well below average...average was more than double....I think I definatly shoulda called???

It is time to gamble, but you should push the flop, instead of check calling his push. You basically have 10-12 BBs left after the PF call. You hit a good draw on the flop. PUSH! Chances are, you win a small pot, and if he does call, you have a good draw to rely on. Don't forget that it is much better to go allin in these situations (on a draw), then to call an allin. The FE you gain by pushing is what really makes this a profitable play.
