Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
reads would extremely helpful here... mainly for BB's 3-bet on the flop...
is he willing to 3-bet a TPGK hand here to isolate on a draw heavy board? or does he need two pair etc... the turn confuses things a bit here, i could see him flat calling with two pair being weary w/ the four to a straight on board... however top pair good kicker is much more likely IMO, just because of the combination of cards on the board etc... turn bet is fine... I value bet this river... i'd be interested to hear any posts supporting the check behind on the river, and more specifically what range they would be concerned about given the turn and river action... value bet seems standard... |

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
Since you didn't get smacked with a C/R on the turn, I fire another barrel on the river. This hand is pretty confusing, but I see your JJ as the best hand a lot of the time here, so get 2 more BB in there.
As crablegs would say, reads would really help. |

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
I agree that the big question is what that c/r on the flop means. A thinking bb trying to protect his top pair or a straightforward player trying to be clever with his two pair (then scared by the possible straight on the turn)?
If the latter is true, I think bb would normally bet the turn, hoping that neither of his opponents has a nine. I agree you should bet the turn when you were checked to and, since you weren't c/rd, your overpair may well be good. I'd then bet again on the river, but probably fold to a c/r. |

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
bet the river, it looked like he was trying to protect on the flop. he'll usually payoff a worse pair.

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
If I had ever raised for a free card in this session, I would cap the flop.
Betting the turn, when checked to seems automatic. I would also value bet the river. |

I like the bet on the turn, and I almost always bet this river.

I find a value bet on the river for the same reason you did on the turn (putting BB on a draw). with BB's strange turn play, does anyone fold here if checkraised on the turn or river? I would have to think I'm behind at that point, but as long as the flush didn't get there I'd hate to fold. |

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
I think the turn is an easy bet. I think you missed a value bet on the river.

Re: 5/10: JJ turn decision
Turn bet for sure and I value this river as well due to turn action, or lack of action.
