Default $22s: 99 UTG... whats my your line here?

Ive been stuck on how to play mid pairs in early position... whats your play preflop? I feel as though limping often ends up in someone raising and me folding like a wimp or raising and overs come on the flop such as this... OK, now that I have raised... what is my line on this flop?

either lead with a c-bet and fold to heat or shut down right now.

youre deep enough if you think youll get a lot of limpers for set value with 99 but sometimes if the table is aggressive, youre too deep to open shove so i might just fold PF utg here. even after 1 fold its a different story but utg sucks in spots like these.

It may be too weak, but I'm just giving up here. If it were a dry ace flop I might c-bet it but here there is just too much stuff that calls you. I'm checking it down unless I set up.

Raising is okay. I'll occasionally bust out a limp push here, especially if I'm up against one opponent at that point.

What's your opponent like? I'm not really feeling the continuation here, but I'd shoot one out some of the time. I say just give it up, in this instance.

villian hasnt done anything crazy yet as its pretty early... yea i cont bet almost 100% if only 1 of those overs came on the flop.... I ended up betting 1/2 pot- he then raised all in and after the blinds ran through me i had about 1000 chips which made me question this hand.
