You Fold...Its really the only play considering you have no reads. You've only invested 400 dollars in an unraised pot and now its definitely time to give it up. You could be up against KQ K9 or most likely 10 J. Calling here just leads to calling a value bet on the turn and the river...the correct decision more often times is to fold. As the maxim says dont lose all your chips in an unraised pot.

Flop went check check grim. all this action is taking place on the turn. I think folding is the best option.

Why did you check behind on the flop? Because you were hoping for action?

Flop check complicates this a ton, since your turnraise now looks a bit like you are full of [censored].

I think you were ahead on the flop (clearly) but probably have to pass this turn.
Villain has 4250 behind him and is certainly going to commit it if he has you beat. Equally, if he doesn't have you beat you're (probably) unlikely to take his stack. Completing in the small blind with K9 or TJ are certainly quite likely and in my opinion his most likely hand here. Fold I think. legend42: I believe he was hoping for his opponent to improve on the turn and pay him off somewhat - which kind of happened . (if his opponent doesn't have a pair, or just has a pair of fours then he's not really drawing live.) |

the only other likely hand he's playing like this is Q9, which you do beat.

do you really fold 2 pair HU without a read? Can't villain be value betting hands we beat here like KJ, KT, Q9, Q4? he can't know you slowplayed the flop and might think you are semi-bluffing or something, he might decide you can't stand any heat and re-raise you with only a draw. Sure I guess it's pretty likely he has JT or something but he could be making some kind of move as well. is the standard play to let this one go and wait untill you get a read on the player?

I think you can push this. Villain's hand range is probably KQ, J-10, spades, Ks-xs, Q4, another K4, and perhaps AK. I think against that range of hands, you can get it in there. Reads on the villain would change things of course.
Edit: oops I misread the post - thought all the action was on the flop; didn't even see the turn action. Now I think it is closer to a fold. |
