Default Blind Steal Flops Middle Pair

Party $10/20. BB is around 30/7/1.2 and has seemed pretty passive to me so far.

I open-raise A7o from the CO. Only BB calls.

Flop is J 7 4 r.

BB donkbets.

What's my line?

Simply calling down and betting if checked to is boring, but it is the right play here IMO.

This was my thinking exactly. I called down, was unimproved and was shown AJo by BB.

curf, you need to ask yourself: What types of hands will call? What types will fold?

I would raise the flop. If he 3 bets, you can choose to fold. If he just calls, then maybe he checks the turn at which time you can keep on the pressure or get a free card.

which is it? do you want to keep on the pressure or get a free card? I think your plan needs to be in place before you start raising the flop, sounds like your plan of action is in a state confusion. Perhaps this will help you get your thoughts together...lets think about it out loud. When should you raise? When should you call? Will your opponent ever fold to a raise if he has a better hand? Will your opponent ever fold to a raise if he has a worse hand? Do you want your opponent to fold if his hand is worse than yours? What plan of action has the greatest expected value?
