Default SIX DOLLAR rake at pacific now??

(for the 75/150 game) Is this known?? Seems just yesterday I Was reading about people griping that it had been raised to $5.

They also have a little clause in there that reads:
"* Additional rake of 1¢ will be taken for every additional 20¢ between consecutive pot sizes."

Anyone venture a guess as to what that means?

The even more prepsoterous thing is that they list in the $50/$100 rake chart for example, a minimum rake of $2, increasing with the size of the pot, but it hits the $5 max rakes at $110, so they might as well just say every pot that sees a flop gets raked the $5 max.

Sounds like if you have a small pot followed by a big pot, they'll take more money out of the big pot...?

Pacific will keep raising the rake, and the fish will still have no idea what's going on.

What draws most of these people to the smaller sites, anyways? Why don't they like playing on larger sites like Party, Stars, etc?

Some people prefer to play a smaller community: you get to know your opponents faster and better.

Many of the smaller sites have great incentives to play there.

If you can beat the games at Party/Stars, it might be worth it to lower your winrate by playing at a smaller site because the amount will at least be made up by a high rakeback %. That way, you don't necessarily have to win to make money.

For instance, the guy that posted an 800BB loss for the year yet made $80k

i would venture to guess it means the following:

if the pot is x, they rake x1.

if it is y, they rake y1.

but when the pot is somewhere between x and y, they rake x, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $0.01 for every $0.2 that the pot is greater than x.

so basically they rake in a more continuous way, rather than the more discrete way most sites rake the pot.

Yeah and the 10/20 rake is capped at 4 bucks...even heads up. That's even more [censored] if you ask me.

The AVG rake at 10/20 is $3.23 PER HAND.

Well if the rake is 50% higher are you really making any money off rakeback?

what I'm guessing the clause means:
if the pot is $5, they rake $0.25
If the pot is $5.20, they rake $0.26
etc..
