dvd player
i just bought like 8 dvds , 3 of them get all choppy and keep freezing up when i watch on the tv and get to certain parts. can't really watch it when it starts getting like that.
when i play it in the dvd drive on the computer, it plays fine. anyone know why this is ? it seems to always happen at the same parts , so i am not sure if it is the dvd player or not... but it seems like that would be the problem. time for a new dvd player ? or just crappy dvds ? |

Re: dvd player
i don't think this happens to any of the dvds we get from netflix or any of the dvds we own. the ones i just bought were instructional videos and might be different quality or something, thats why i ask. i don't want to go and buy a new dvd player if that isn't the problem. i thought someone might know the cause of the choppy/freezing in the video.
but i don't want to complain saying they sent me bad dvds either since they play fine on the computer. i dunno. i don't get it. |

Re: dvd player
are they brand new dvds or used ones? any visible scratches?
in my experience, some dvd players are much more sensitive to small scratches than others... i have no idea why. |

Re: dvd player
Do the old nintendo trick, blow into player after the tray slides out, or use some compressed air. For some reason, my dvd player was like yours. I opened up the case blew compressed air, and it worked after that.

Re: dvd player
My dvd player is several years old and this just began happening. Think it's time for a new player. They do have dvd cleaners, though. Try that before spending money on a new player.
