Default Thailand poker vacation

Hi there,
I`m going on vacation in Thailand and i want to stay in a good resort. Does anyone know a good resort where i can also use the internet in my room so i can play online poker? Or a place where they have wireless internet and where u can hire a laptop?

Anyone ever been to Thailand and played poker there?

I was in thailand this past winter and did end up playing a little bit of poker. I didn't have a laptop with me so when I played I simply went to an internet cafe and downloaded the poker client. When I went we mostly stayed in guesthouses/bungalows and you're not going to find many of those with in room internet. I don't know how long you are going for or what kind of vacation you are looking for, but I wouldn't really advise staying in just one place. There are so many things to see and do with affordable busing/boats etc. There are internet cafes everywhere though and you can play poker on them.

Gambling in any form is illegal in Thailand. Many ISP's block access to gambling sites by order of the government.

Of course, people still do it but I wouldn't go around advertising that you're playing poker by doing it in public places like internet cafes.

God, you're going to Thailand. Give up poker for a while and play some poke-her while you're there. Lots of hot babes there.

While I wouldn't go to thailand specifically to play poker, there are times where it's kind of nice to sit and play an hour or two of poker (bangkok during the day, especially after arriving at 6 on an early bus when you can't sleep) and just hit up msn and talk to friends from back home as well. I pronanly played 30 hours in two and a half months.

Where are you planning on staying? In Bangkok? On the beach in Phuket? I've been living in Bangkok for the last year and a half and could point you to a few hotels. I know a decent one with in room ADSL, room service, pool, gym etc for about $750/month. Feel free to PM me. I don't know about renting a laptop though. You might be better off getting one on Ebay and then when you get back you could sell it if you wanted to.

Thailand is great you could home base in Bangkok and easily travel around. Go to the beaches, see sights, go to the Cambodia border and hit the casinos too!

Oilcan you the man! I read some of your blog and sounds like you had a great time in Vegas. Hit me up when you're back in the kingdom. Maybe I can learn a thing or two from you.

mate, ditch the poker! that should be the last thing on your mind whilst in thailand. take a holiday and get yourself laid, drink a lot of chang, get a massage or two, loll at the beach, and all of that will do your game a lot more good than sitting in a hotel room playing online ever would.

Some guy who's posting to SNGs is living in Thailand. He might be actually from Europe or something, but lives there and plays poker. Try searching.

You have a point there... Thailand is probably one of the best places in the world to take a break from anything. That said - beer, beaches, and babes will still leave time for poker and even some bogey golf.
