50/100 HU with Hulk we get some pretty LAG games every once in a while one of us will do a goofball move. Loose with the calling. I have 20k after just making bad outdraw on him. He doesn't appear to be on any severe form of tilt and even if he's LAG his plays have skill and thought behind them. I raise KK to $300 he calls.
Flop is 6h 3s 9s, I have Ks. I bet $600 he raises to $200 he has been doing this fairly frequently. Top pair, flush draw, straight draw, gutshot, trash with descending orders of frequency. He's been doing it maybe a little too often but the c/r is working out okay for him. The last few times a similar spot has come up and me or him has had overpair we've both gone all in at this spot. I call. Turn is Qd, he bets $3000, what now? Its easy to go all in but after 15 seconds of thought it seemed like his hand range was such that I should just call. River is Qs, SWEET. He quickly goes all in for $5600. |

Is the flop raise to $1200 or $2000?

Bruiser,
If I think calling turn is correct, then I close my eyes and call any river. I would push turn, though. |

With the background I like just calling the flop raise. Against agressive player who might shove something like 98 here but play more passive if scare cards come I naturally reraise.
On turn as you wrote it's easy to just push it in and I would do it some % of the time. If I just call the turn I will also call any bet on any river with these stack sizes.. |

maybe you were pozzed on river, I think if you plan on calling a scare card river you should just shove the turn since it's not that much more. Pot is like 11.2k on river, right? and he's going to be betting 5600 into it. I think if he has something like 45, he gets to play the river perfectly, b/c I doubt he bluffs a blank river, and he gets to use scare cards if he wants to incrase bluff equity, and when the 2 hits you won't fold anyways.

[/ QUOTE ] i agree. i would have to think he is just totally out of line, no pair/no draw, a pretty decent % of the time before i chose calling over pushing. what potential hands did you feel calling was better against? |

So there is $10,700 in the pot, say he has a gutshot or air something like 3-6 outs roughly, not a lot of equity in pot which can be ignored, and on the river he bluffs 50% of the time, that's $2500 expected value. If he has a medium strenght hand with a decent number of outs like 10, that is 1/4 the time he hits so 1/4 equity in 10,700 and the 5500 I call that is $4000 he has expected value roughly. During the hand I figured he most likely did not have a medium strength draw hand, because I thought he wouldn't make that turn bet with a flush draw which is awkward for given stakc sizes.

Bruiser, people are preferring a push because it's not likely he will attempt to bluff for 5600 into a pot of 10700, so by calling he's effectively given a free card since he isn't putting a another dime in unless he hits. I would shut down everytime in his spot if I were him and got called.

MDMA what about... if the river is a flush card he can bluff the flush. If it's a non flush card, he can hope I had a flush and bluff.
