Default Blind battle against maniac

Villain is a maniac, but can calm down at times. He's reraised 87o PF, does multistreet bluffs, bet/3 bet the turn with crappy draws, and stuff. Stats are ~58/23/1.8. He has 3BB left on the river.

It's close but I think we have to pay off a checkraise, which makes it less appealing.

I leave the room. Battling blinds with a maniac gets my bloodpressure up. I don't need that kind of stress even if it is a profitable situation. In this hand I probably play it just like you did. Maybe bet the river 50% of the time, but kick myself if I get check raised.

I think it's close, but I agree. The maniac is likely to bet the flush. Sucks if you're checkraised, but from your read, he might do that with a king, too. Checking behind can't be too bad, either, though.

Value bet, get raised, call, and win the pot.
