Default I have zero (ZERO) discipline. What\'s my problem?

Seriously, what's my problem? I can't get myself to put in any hours. I hear people complain about only putting in 10 hours, and I'm thinking, that's a good week for me. I've put in zero hours in the last 3 weeks, and it's not uncommon for me to do this.

Anyone have any idea as to what my problem is? I have no other job, no school, and no responsibilities to anyone other than myself. I need to work though, cuz otherwise I don't eat. Anyone got suggestions?

How can I get some work ethic?

To answer this question we would need to know how you occupy your waking hours since you don't seem to have any obligations. If you are pursuing fulfilling hobbies or activities that is fine. If not, you appear to be lazy. Which is no problem as I fall into the latter category.

Are you the Vincent from the Seinfeld episode - the one who recommends movies to Elaine?

Off hand, I would say your problem is that you have no discipline.

Like all the others have already said, you're either a lazy sack-o-[censored] or you just don't enjoy playing poker.

Or a lazy sack-o-[censored] who doesn't like playing poker.

Don't worry, though, because you'll be a perfect fit in the American labor union, where EVERYONE is an underqualified, lazy sack-o-[censored].

Not sure what you're reason is, but I would say over half of people who dont play because they "lack discipline" really just lack the nerves to deal with many hours a day of bad beats, etc that is poker.

Poker is stressful, expect the donks to suck out, expect to get upset, recover, tilt away some chips, hang in there, get in hours, rejoice that you're not stressed over having forgotten to put in the nacho cheese with the chips and have had your hours cut.

I think this is at least partially right. Even though I know I'm a favorite to win in these games over time. I think underneath I have some fear of losing, which shouldn't matter, since I know it's only short term. I don't handle stress well.

I remember hearing Jen Harmen talk about pain threshold being important to being a good poker player, and maybe I don't have it. The strange thing is, I don't tilt too often, bad beats never really bother or stress me out. It's simply grinding hours that do. But usually once I'm in the game, I don't have too much trouble with it. It's just the initial part of getting myself to play. It's like a have some irrational fear that I'll lose, so I don't start playing.

I'm not sure this is it, but I'm leaning that way now.

As far as not wanting to play, I always enjoy switching games, and playing something other than Hold'em, where I'm pretty much lucky to win, though I do believe I'm usually a winner at micro-limits where I play (or low limits in casino).
