UTG isn't a maniac or anything, I can see him laying down to a push possibly. The two shorter stacks have been hanging around and the SB is using his big stack very liberally.
Do you push, call, or fold here? Hmm, This is a rare instnace where I am pretty happy to lay down 99 5 handed with only one other play in the pot. I don't like a push with 12BBs behind and two stacks <4BB; you said he isn't a maniac but if he is sitiing on a bigger pair (v bad) or two over (still bad) that's not a race you want. You certainly don't have the implied odds to call for a set (basically 3:1 effective) and you are OOP. I vote fold>push>>>>call.

With the two small stacks and the raise coming from a non-maniac UTG, I see no problem with folding. I can't imagine you have a whole lot of FE considering his position and the fact that he has almost double your stack.

obvious fold [/ QUOTE ] is it so obvious really? here is a devil's advocate attempt to justify a push (a call is not worth mentioning): give him a 10% chance of having a junkish hand, so he'll fold those i feel. if he calls w/ a range of 77+,ATs+,KQs,ATo+,KQo - then its a coinflip to be in a position to have a nice stack that can play for first. Folding sets up for a 3rd place situation much more frequently. Any merit to any of this?? |
