Default Cheap Vegas Hotels

I was looking at going to Vegas for the WSOP, and wanted to save some cash...what do you think of Wild Wild West and Palace Station? They are like $30 on expedia, should I just stay there, or suck it up and stay at nice one for like $100?

The one time I told someone on here to stay downtown, a couple people just freaked out on me.
When I go to Vegas, we used to stay at Westward Ho, until they closed it. This time its gonna be the Vegas club. 50 on the weekend for two of us. 30 during the week for 2 of us.
They have hot and cold running water, and a bed. Thats all I need. I'm never in my room long enough to know how nice the room is. I never have any special requests for the hotel, so I don't know what they would be.
I stayed at Palace station once, its just as good as any IMO

You laugh. You've obviously never stayed at the Gold Spike.

Any stations casino is acceptable... they take good care of their customers... and if play anything besides poker, their comps are pretty liberal.

If you are taking your own car, and don't mind a 15 minute drive to the strip, stay at the new $1 Billion Red Rock Stations. It's absoulelty amazing with a great poker room. Lots of action and good staff.

I'd do a quick expedia search -- Mid week, you might find a room in the $50 range at any number of places. Harrah's, Bally's, Flamingo, Trop.

Between your time, and the car fare, it may be worth it to be on the strip, rather than downtown. Otherwise, I've heard good things about Palace Station.

I have stayed at 3 of the Stations. Fiesta is tiny not worth it way to far, Sante Fe is a dump Ok pokerroom biggest game 4/8 mini blinds. and far far from the strip. My fav so far has been the Boulder. Very nice rooms but the pokerroom allows smoking. Though they did renovate and added some sweet plasmas

I like the Imperial Palace - its in the middle of the strip and all of the action - plus at the end of the year they are blowing it up, what gets better than that?
