Default Take it down now?

Here's something I need to work on in NL. Options:

1 - Donk the flop

2 - Check/call flop, checkraise turn

3 - check/call flop, donk turn

4 - check/raise flop.

I was leaning toward just calling the flop and spraying chips into the pot on the turn, but once they both called the pot got so big that I thought it was worth trying to take down right there. Yeah or no?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($46.83)
Hero ($24.45)
MP ($26.95)
CO ($104.95)
Button ($33)
SB ($27.90)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
Hero calls $0.25, MP raises to $1.1, 2 folds, SB (poster) calls $1, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.85.

Flop: ($3.55) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP bets $3, SB calls $3, Hero raises to $10....

why would you want to take down the pot on the flop? induce big mistakes, rather than helping your opponents play correctly

Well, I'm trying to forget the Ed Miller limit mantra of "if the pot is big, win it now."

That $9 was just too tempting...

Yeah, that's an important one to forget. In limit, the pots don't get much bigger, but in NL, they explode. The first thing you should be thinking when you hit a set is, "OK, how can I get his stack?" Adjust from there if the board is really scary.

So I need to give myself permission to slowplay sometimes, right?

This board misses most of MP's range so I'm not concerned about him being on a str8 draw, more likely SB has some piece of it.

I'd lead flop, if MP raises and SB sticks around 3bet, if MP raises SB folds smooth call and c/r turn.
