i posted this over in SH, as well.
generally, releasing a hand is the proper response when your pocket comes up empty on the flop. when do you persist, even though you have no board? at what limits do you change this approach? how is your decision affected by the vpip-of/reads-on your opponent? any other exceptions? i am assuming SH play. thanks, TLT |

There are a lot of flops that make sense to bluff at vs 1 or 2 opponents, even if you don't have a hand as strong as a medium pocket.
For instance, on a flop of K72, I'll often c-bet with a hand that missed completely like AJ, simply because you take down a lot of pots when no one has a king. Naturally, c-betting with 88 also makes sense here. The key is to recognize what a weak board looks like. Also knowing that your opponents are tight is key. |
