You shouldn't never read the 1-table tournament forum.

Phil Ivey could play 10 SnGs and never cash... don't worry about it yet.

Well, let's start off basic. How do you usually play them?

I wouldn't worry yet. On Sunday I finished out of the money 11 times in a row and then finished in the money 7 out my last 9.

Well, with the foresight to see this is in the wrong forum, I'll try to answer anyway...

Variance may be an issue, but...

if you can't cash in the party SNGs, you probably have fundemental strategy problems. In order to alleviate the problems created by those strategic short comings:

1. Don't play a hand for the first 30 minutes, in fact, buyin, sitout, then pull up the STT forum on 2+2 and read for 30 minutes (j/k) - check in once in a while, look for when its 5 players or less. As your skills develop, the first 30 minutes varies from player to player, with some guys going for accumulating chips, while others just hold back and wait, pushing only monsters.

2. Sit back in and go crazy aggressive, more so preflop, less so post flop. As the blinds catch up with stack sizes, you want to see less showdowns and steal more.

This is a very very very crude strategy to beating these things. But a safe, consistent way to cash in these things is super tight early and super aggressive late. Keep playing, posting, and reading, you'll get the idea.
