Default How is this quick post work out drink?

I started working out this week and I remember reading that it is beneficial to get some easy to digest protein following the workout. At somepoint I will go down to a GNC and get something but for today I tried this

ingrediants
two egg whites raw
a full glass of milk
hershey's chocolate syrup

directions
blend until frothy.

Is the above going to benefit me at all?

The Hershey's Chocalate syrup is the worst thing you could possibly have.

This is not bad if you don't have access to protein powders.

By the way, the best post-workout shake available is Surge over at T-Nation. It beats the living hell out of anything from GNC in terms of both taste and performance. It is a bit expensive, though... ~$2 per serving.

Ideally you'd like whey protein instead of egg protein.

My PWO shake is Optimum Nutritions Rocky Road whey, and dextrose. Dextrose is dirt cheap, and the ON whey is $25 for 5 lbs.

Simpler and better: a bowl of Corn Flakes with skim milk and eight ounces of grape juice mixed with about 40 grams of Designer Whey (natural flavor).

I've read that raw egg whites are actually poor sources of protein. On the other hand, I've heard that chocolate milk is an excellent cheap PWO shake substitute.

[censored],

Replace the two egg-whites w/ two scoops of ice cream and you'll be good to go.
