Default Copious Notes

Hello,

I have tons of poker thoughts on notebook paper that I would like to transfer to my computer. Unfortunately I am essentially computer illiterate and do not know what software is available to accomplish the task. It would be nice to arrange them in some sort of systematic way, say thoughts on flop play, semibluffing, blind steal defense, etc., etc. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time.

I think this is very (very) hand to answer w/o seeing the notes. I expect your guess is going to be way better than ours.

Maybe you could post the notes in some organized fashion, and we can tell you how to type them up and organize them.

Oh boy Sam, I've got notes in 4 different notebooks(not full notebooks mind you, but they are everywhere!) that are haphazardly arranged. That and the fact I am a horrible typist makes your suggestion difficult. I do appreciate the thought however, decided to try this forum before hitting the computer store, perhaps one of you guys have done something similar.

If typing them into the computer is not an option, you'll need a scanner. Microsoft OneNote is a program that I have used for taking notes. It worked well for me and it will definitely allow you to organize things. I think that is your best bet.

Take a look at the OneNote Website .

flash,

Having quickly perused your link, this does indeed look interesting. Poker has become my profession, and it is imperative that I become more organized and be able to quickly find my notes on a particular game or situation, as I am continually learning and/or need to refresh myself. Being virtually computer illiterate is a definite handicap even determining what may or may not be useful for me. How long did it take you to be pretty good with this program, and would you recommend it to a novice? Another poster recommended Word, does that suffice if I determine that I will take the time to type all my entries(does it have sufficient organizational functions?). These questions are perhaps virtually unanswerable, again a product of my computer ignorance. I spend 40hrs./wk. with poker, so time is important, but willing to invest some time to do what I think will be beneficial in the long run. Anyway, I do appreciate the link and your thoughts.
