Where should I go to play poker in Vegas?

Hi, I'm looking to be in Vegas later this year, and I want to play some poker while I'm there.

Can anyone please give me some recommends on poker rooms/ poker rates?

Sorry, I guess I shoulda figured that.

I'd like to stay in a nice place. I'll be bringing my wife. My buddy's going to be at Caesar's, so that's probly the default.

I'm interested in poker room rates. If I can get a nice discount for doing what I'm going to be doing anyway, that would be sweet. Some of them - I've been told - offer pretty substantial discounts.

I know the Bellagio has a popular room, and lots of "names" play there (right?) Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Barry Greenstein, or bumping into Doyle. And the Bellagio - if I remember right - is right across the street from Ceasar's.

I'll probly be playing 4/8, but it wouldn't kill me to play higher than that. Or lower, for that matter.

I'd prefer a swanky room that's comfortable. I played at the MGM last time I was in Vegas. I didn't like it. I didn't like that it was out in the open, or that it was far from the rest of the casino, or that it felt crowded. It was like playing in a conference room.

I also played at the Peppermill, when I was in Reno. I liked that much better. It was very comfortable, and reasonably swanky. The staff was brusque, but nice, once you got to know them. It was right on the casino floor, separated only by a low, wide wall. (My theory: slots players wandering in from the casino = good.) Plus, I just like casinos. I like the noises, the fact that you can smoke there, and pretty much everything about them.

So I guess what I'm looking for is the Peppermill, except in Vegas, if that helps any.

Oh yeah. Plus my friend loves tournaments, so if there's any tournaments anywhere near Ceasar's, he'll probly want to play in them.

Play bellagio 4/8 limit is the lowest available, also a very good $2/5 no limit game.... and if you want to play bigger, pretty sure they can accomidate that

In the "new" vegas your desires are mutually incompatible. "Swanky rooms that are comfortable" - Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, Mirage (in my order of where to play). "I didn't like it because ... far from the rest of the casino" - only the Mirage. All the new rooms (and now most of the old rooms) are non-smaoking and the new rooms are generally located in their own area that is not connected to the casino floor. You may want to check out Bally's (I've never played there) that might be a good mix of what you want. My reccomendation is to play at the Wynn for a swanky, comfartable very well run poker room, but it won't meet your other criteria. GL.

bellagio is the most +EV in my opinion, in particular for limit games. if you care more about getting comps/good treatment from the floor/etc., then go to the venetian or the wynn. the games are softest at the bellagio by far
