Bankroll $300 For Online what level do i start at?
I want to start planing holdem online on one of the poker sites.
I think i'm going to start with a $300 bankroll. Which level should i play at. I'd rate my skill at a little above average (placed 11 in a 200 player tourney a few times) I'd like to note have to cash in again. So whats the +EV levels and when should i move to the next levels. My goal is to play 5/10 full time then play multiple tables of 5/10 after a while |

Re: Bankroll $300 For Online what level do i start at?
Standard is 300BB for whatever limit you play for full ring, 500BB for 6 max limit.
You can play higher if you are willing to drop back down in limits if you start running bad or playing poorly. I'd probably start at .25/.50, which is 600BB. If you are planning on multi-tabling, then do so at the lower limits. Start with 1 table, get used to it, then add another at that same limit. When you move up, play a single table, then add, etc.. |

Wait wait wait. Are you playing Limit or No-Limit? That makes a big difference in what level you play.

Start at 1/2. Playing lower is just a waste of time and at this lvl you shouldn't need 300 BBS, and 300 BBS doesn't really apply to non-pro players.

[ QUOTE ]
I'd rate my skill at a little above average [/ QUOTE ] I've never heard a poker player say he is below average, but many people are, and the average result at low limits is to lose about 3 BB/100 to the rake. The 300 BB guideline people discuss is not appropriate for you. It assumes that you have a track record of winning at an excellent rate. It does not apply to someone who might not be a winning player, or who might be a marginal winner. I recommend starting at the penny-ante tables. Move up when you have the skills and the bankroll. Don't assume you have the skills to play at a level just because you have what would be a sufficient bankroll for an expert at that level. [ QUOTE ] (placed 11 in a 200 player tourney a few times) [/ QUOTE ] That you mention this reinforces my judgement that you should start at the penny-ante tables. |
