Default \"Remember Password\" on Poker Sites?

Do any of the computer gurus out there know if checking this option on the various poker sites saves your info somewhere on your harddrive (where it could potentially be compromised)? I sure wouldn't mind not having to type my login info every time, but obviously not if there's any risk in having it saved.

Where the password is saved depends on how the program is written. It may be on your hard drive, or it may be in the retistry.

You can go for a long time without having problems, but your machine only has to be compromised once and someone will have access to all the accounts with saved passwords on your sytem.

Then they can see from your browser history what sites you go to (PayPal, casinos, banks) and go to those sites and get right in.

If you're capable and diligent about securing your home netowrk and computer, you have nothing to worry about. If not, you're better off never having passwords saved.

Most people whose computers are compromised don't know it. A cousin of mine once had his computer hijacked. . . he asked me to help set up a new computer and transfer his files, because the old one was slow. I helped him buy the old one a year prior and knew it should NOT be slow for what he was doing.

It was directly on a cable modem, left on all the time, and was inadequately secured. Someone had gotten in through a trojan and turned his machine into a zombie. His machine was also running an FTP server for a group of movie pirates! Fortunately, they didn't compromise his accounts, and he didn't have much valuable information on the machine, but it went on for weeks.
