Bet more on the flop.

Here, unless he has AQ/fd/bigger set you're not getting much action. Keep potting it.

I just bet out half the pot and see if he raises...

I know checking and trying to get a raise in is nice, but it would suck to have it checked through and get beaten by a flush or some crap.

You have to keep betting. If he does have Q x he won't immediately fold just because an overcard came. Plus he could have AQ or an FD. About $5 would be good here. We want to be able to make a PSB on the river that will get our stack in (barring the FD hits, then we slowdown).

Bet more on the flop. You raised PF so you don't want to be making a weak bet when you hit your hand or folks will start picking up on it. I'd most likely bet $3 here and depending on villain make it a PSB. There are several draws out there as well. If villain has a reasonable holding you will get action, if not... well he's most likely folding.

On the turn I'm betting about 2/3 pot. If villain holds an A then he just hit and may well think his hand is now good and may well raise you. If villain doesn't hold a solid hand or strong draw he's folding anyways.

Sometimes you make a great hand but villain whiffs. You can't bet weakly every time, because it's surprising how often if you check through villain winds up making some weird hand that can beat yours or you only win a small pot when you and villain are both being overly cautious with strong hands.

I bet $6 on the turn as played, but I bet at least $2.50 on the flop. If youve been cbetting frequently (probably even if you havent) you'll get called or hopefully raised.
