Default Would you rather your child be...

Which would you prefer for your child?

1) Morbidly depressed and unhappy his whole life, but a very good and moral person.

2) Always a very happy but an extremely immoral person.

Why?

How could this possibly be close?

Simplified...

A kid who gives his last $5 to a homeless Spanish guy and then goes up and slits his wrists

OR

A kid who takes a homeless Spanish guy's last $5 and goes home and masturbates furiously with his cock wrapped in Lincoln.

How extreme are we talking here?

Happy Hitler vs. Depressed Mother Theresa?

Cause if his immoral behavior is like killing children and small animals for fun, then let him be miserable.

We're talking bad seed...not steals nickels from the Salvation Army X-mas can. That would make this too easy. But maybe not Son of Sam evil either.

I voted happy and immoral and by immoral I mean doing things like misc. stealing, maybe being a drug dealer!

Bleh. I don't even consider that immoral. The point isn't to define immoral in a way that makes this an easy choice. The opposite.

I don't want to do that. It changes it from a question of which you believe is more important to one of what I think is immoral versus what you think is, or to one of how immoral is enough. That wasn't really the point.
