went to a party with ex co-workers from a previous job. I have hooked up with the girl in question before.

she is incredibly drunk, and I only had a handful of beers over a few hours, so I'm relatively sober.

she wants me to come over, clearly making it known that we are going to hook up, and most likely have sex. I say no.

if I was drunk, or if we're both sober, maybe it's a different story, but I don't want to hook up with/have sex with anyone right now if I am not in a relationship or in the beginning stages of getting into a relationship with a woman. I've done it too much before, and I'm ready to start acting like a 'grown up' and only have sex with people that I genuinely care about or want to date.

This policy will save you many a headache. It's not gay to have standards on who you will have sex with or in what circumstances. This is one of those things where the less sex one gets the crazier this policy sounds but the more one has had the wiser it sounds.
