[ QUOTE ] lol [/ QUOTE ] I dont get it. Its a good article. [/ QUOTE ] I found it amusing because I assumed (incorrectly??) that it was addressed to 2p2ers. I don't think we need Ed Miller to tell us that Party 50NL is beatable. Also, I dislike his hand example w/ pocket fours. I found the part about your opponent checking behind on the turn/river and showing JT to be ridiculous (although I'm sure it happens) in the context of a serious (instructional?) article. |

He's saying play more hands, push people around a little more which is all good until you run into the dreaded calling station who refuses to fold his top pair on even the most coordinated board against your 3 barrel bluff.
Calling station > bluffer bluffer > NIT NIT > Calling station |

Calling station > bluffer bluffer > NIT NIT > Calling station [/ QUOTE ] Im sorry, I missed the part where Ed advocated 3-barrel bluffing, can you point to it? Also, do you think Ed doesnt understand the difference between a calling station and a weak passive? From the article: [ QUOTE ] Always remember that good no limit means watching your opponents and exploiting their weaknesses. Don?t try to play by formula. What works great against one type of player may destroy you against another. [/ QUOTE ] |

I think this article might be more aimed at people who haven't played NL before or lots. It seems like we can link this article in our forum and have an easy time saying, "Oh I knew that already" or, "Is he serious?"
There are a lot of new people buying NLTP who have never played NL before. With the advent of this book, these players are probably in the small stakes games and are looking for any extra edge they can get. I am sure they are happy to see this article and more to come from Ed. If his SSNL book is anything like his small stakes limit book, I am definately preordering it when I get a chance. |

[ QUOTE ] lol [/ QUOTE ] I dont get it. Its a good article if you've never played poker online before. . [/ QUOTE ] FYP. And I will concur that his examples with the 4s is a poor one. That's a great way to give your money to A/rag. |
