Default State executioner as a job

Previously secret documents released from deep within the British justice system reveal the rules, ethics and code of being an executioner in the 20th century.

Their job required complete discretion and reticence. Which puts the hangman in a the same sort of quandary that I find myself ( a poker player ) in. I very much hate revealing what I do for a living in public, especially at the table. When hot chicks asked these fellows: “So, what do you do for a living?”, what do you suppose they would say? I always say, I’m a masseuse. How would a hangman respond?

A masseuase as well? I don't know what you're getting at, as a poker player has in much in common as a masseuse as a hangman, no?

Masseuses are female. Are you?

Good catch ( I think ). Should I be saying that I am a masseur?
This line has been so good, that I'm glad you caught my mistake before I had cards printed.

If you are male, then masseur is the term.

A movie about Pierrepoint (called Pierrepoint in the UK, 'The Last Hangman' elsewhere) is due to be available sometime soon.

Here's the IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462477/

I didn't catch it, but it was a pretty good little production, by all accounts.

I did hear an interview with the actor Timothy Spall that made it sound very serious, but quite intriguing. And I've never seen Timothy Spall ever do a bad job in anything he's done.
