Default What to start with in my home game?

1/2 NL and most people start with $50... i think this is too low bc you would have to be very aggressive especially because the usually turn out is 6 or 7 people... i just want to know what you think is a good amount to start with.. these players are mostly loose so i play tight and sometimes i get blinded and forced to make action

Ideally you would want $200 buyin with these limits. With you current buy-in You should be playing .10-.25 to get your 200bb's. This kind of structure should allow the better player to succeed.

yeah, that's lower than the typical minimum casino buy-in for 1/2. Play like 0.25/0.5. It's still restricted, but it's 100x versus 25x.

25x you take too much 'play' out of the game. Figure 4x BB Pre-flop, 8-10x BB flop, 20-30x BB Turn, River?? pot committed.

1. Play a $50 SNG and pay top 3 (or 2).
2. Play mixed games limit. Increase everyone's understanding of the games because poker is not just NLH. Play some HORSE and switch games every 2 orbits. On any of the 7 card variations more money will shift, but then lower the limits so you can play longer. Find out who really is the best poker player at your game

I think you should start out with atleast $100 (or make blinds .50/$1), that way it gives you much more room to manuever and also prevents the game from going on too long (if it is a tourney, but from your descrption is sounds like a cash game so even .25/50 or $200 is reasonable). But at the current structure, you are at a short handed table and on the 1st hand your M (amount rounds you can survive without playing a hand) is only 16. Although your opponents are playing agressive, the structure is forcing you to play agressive regardless.
