Both of these hands occured at a live 1-2 $200 NL game. Relevant stacks had approx. $200 in front of them. I'm looking to see how well I played the river in these two hands. Some of the prior action is questionable on my part (especially in the first hand).
First hand. Two limpers, Hero raises to $12 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], all fold except second limper. Second limper is a tourist, playing with a few other friends at the table, appears to be new to playing poker in a casino, but he's still been fairly solid, perhaps overly tight. Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He checks, hero checks. Turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He checks, hero checks. (Again, hero's action is very questionable here, but I'm mostly looking for river feedback). River is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Limper checks. Your move? Hand 2: 2 limpers, Hero limps with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Player in late position raises to $12, all fold to Hero, Hero calls. Raiser is reasonably tight, solid, and fairly straightforward in his play. Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, raiser bets $15, hero calls. Turn is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks, raiser checks behind. River is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero checks. Raiser thinks for 10 seconds, bets $25. Your move. |

H1, bet the flop and turn. Obviously you should check the river behind, WTF?
H2, fold the flop maybe? |

hand 1: you gotta start betting somewhere or you will never build a pot. Me, I bet the flop because I pretty much always cbet the flop when I take the lead preflop whether I got it or not.
hand 2: if you're trying to steal this pot, you should just lead the river when the villian showed weakness on the turn. Me - I just fold on the flop. |

Well I don't play these stakes but I really don't understand what you're doing on the first hand (which you admitted). On the second hand, I'd fold the flop even though its ~1/2 PSB.As played, I'm not sure why you'd call on the river, given your read that he is solid. There's no pair that you beat, so you're only ahead of AT-AQ.

WTF!
Hand 1 I am betting each street. Hand 2 I am folding on this flop unimproved. Easy ass fold on the river. |
