Default Live vs Online play (not even sure I have a point)

I'm going to start this off as a wondering undirected discussion. I'm not trying to be pointless, I've just noticed a few things and I'm not sure what to make of them. And sometimes starting out writing stuff like this helps.

Recently I've had a few live sessions where I've started to notice a few things.

-1. I think I'm worse at stud live (when compared to online play)(or at best running poorly)
-2. I'm better at NLHE live (when compared to online play)this is undeniable.
-3. When I deviate from "standard" play in live stud I often hate the result.
-4. When I deviate from "standard" play in live NLHE I often love the result.

None of these observation probably mean much. But I'd love to hear from anyone about there thoughts of live vs online play.

If anything, these differences are mostly "You can be more creative when playing live than you can online" And being creative is more useful when playing NL as opposed to limit.

P.S. AC this weekend anyone?
P.P.S Live tightly structured stud sucks soo bad it isn't funny.

I am pretty much break even in live stud. For some reason I just rarely get good cards, and when I do, they dont hold up. I think we are dealing with a sample size that is so small that there can be no conclusion though.

Here are some reasons I attribute the lack of live success to:
1. the game moves so much slower than I am used to that I get bored and do stupid things.
2. I am usually in AC with friends and am therefore drinking. I really dont think this affects much except remembering some live cards when it gets late.
3. I try to play correctly and people notice that I dont play any hands so I dont get a lot of action when I do. And by play correctly I just mean not play random 3 cards and play every hand like most do. I usually play a lot of mid/small pairs live because in the low limits you can often limp in and have huge implied odds if you hit trips.

i'll have to try some NL when I am in vegas in a couple weeks. I am always afraid to play because I suck at online ring games (even though I do pretty good at tourneys somehow).

Maybe you're not comfortable enough playing STUD live? I don't know your skill level in STUD but if you're not 100% sure of the rules and play, it could affect your game. I feel that sometimes playing online isn't a great way to learn a game. The computer gives you choices and does everything for you. Unlike in live where you have to pay attention more to the game and what's going on.

^Does anyone else agree with me on that?

I think my skill level in every game depends most on how much I care at that time.

I think live NLHE games are a lot easier than online games. The $2/5 game I played at the Borgata in March was easier than most of the $.10/.25 game I played in over the holiday weekend.

While reading people is definitely not my forte, the fact that you have something to go on makes live games easier. I find this particularly true in NLHE and stud/8.

I play much better live than online, no matter what the game.

I don't know if others feel the same, but I get more antsy to play junk hands in ring games online than I do live. I show a lot of patience live, while I get bored online.
