Parallel Printer Question
So I bought a new desktop this week, and when I went to hook up my HP all-in-one printer, I noticed that there was no parallel port. I didnt realize that they didnt make computers without parallel ports anymore, so I didnt even think to try to configure the desktop to have one added. Its an older printer/scanner/fax/copier (about 3 years old), but it still works well and I have a bunch of ink cartridges for it, so I hate to get a new one at this point.
Does anyone know if I can use a parallel to USB adapter/cable? I tried looking on HP's website, but I couldnt find anything related to my printer. I thought I had read somewhere that using this type of connection could reduce the functionality of the device. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Parallel Printer Question
You can, but they are clunky, slow, and generally terrible devices.

Re: Parallel Printer Question
It'll be easier to add a parallel port to your computer. Should be $10-15.
