UK Petition - Try to end the knife culture

I've never posted in this forum section, however this seems to be the only section.

I've seen [censored] and other stuff posted here so i hope the moderators can excuse this post due to the video it contains.

From what I gathered from a quick google, "knife culture" is basically kids with knives and this is a petition to apparently stop kids from stabbing other kids with knives?

What a useless petition. I would suggest the correct remedy to it but it should go on the politics forum so I won't.

If you ban knifes, they'll just start carrying forks. And then what will you do, ban forks? Haven't you even heard about spoons? IT WILL NEVER WORK!!

as a social anthropologist, i'm constantly surprised by the loose use of the word "culture". I didn't realised that all knife carriers shared a similar ethos, pattern of discourse and so on.

Petitions are unlikely solve the problem here. What needs to be done is some reasonable pointing out to those who think it's necessary in a civilised society to arm oneself, those parents who equip their children with the ideologies and the means to perpetuate this [yes, there are some parents who give their kids knives to "keep themselves safe"] and maybe greater tolerance towards other people.

I really hate the UK at the moment. As soon as one of my friends gets injured in a knife fight, a BNP person gets elected to parliament or my civil liberties get curtailed further I'm finding another island.
