Alright... so it's 6 days later and I still have some pretty decent swelling going on down there. I can hobble around if I need to walk, but it's not very easy. I've never had a knee injury b4 so I don't really know what is standard and what is not. I don't have health insurance so I was trying to put off going to the doctor as long as possible (i'll get it through the casino in 7 weeks ) I don't wanna F my knee up for life, so do you think I can make it through this w/o seeing a doc? I'm thinking the swelling should have gone down over the course of about a week, so I'm thinking a doctor's visit is pretty much mandatory... A buddy of mine just had the same experience about 3 weeks ago. He sprained his knee and heard a pop while he was playing soccer. He didn't have health insurance either and his doctor bill was 400 bucks just to be told that he slightly tore his MCL and he needs to stay off of it for a while. I would like to avoid paying for that kind of diagnosis, altho I hope it's something minor like that obviously! Plz help OOT! I'll probably end up going, I just wanted to share with you guys. I ain't no moran |

Why would someone willingly allow themself to be put in a full nelson? That can easily break someone's neck.
Um, and go to the doctor? Good advice? |

You have sacks of fluid between the joints in your knees. A popping sound is not good. Stop being an idiot and see the doctor.

I've had surgery in both my knees due to injuries from playing soccer. In my experience doctors can't do and don't know [censored] about knee injuries. He'll poke and twist your knee a bit, conclude that he doesn't know wth this is about and send you to a physical therapist.
They'll generally advice you to rest the knee and maybe give you some exercises. What a doctor can do otoh is to send you to an x-ray which was needed in my case to find out what was wrong with my knee. |
