I have started experimenting with an alternative to a pot sized c-bet. rather than one large flop bet, building up aggression over the 3 rounds.
So say you steal with A8o when folded to you on the button, and a blind calls. flop 57Q rainbow, pot 8BB. betting 8BB will get calls from hands you beat and folds from hands that miss. instead, bet 2BB, keeping the pot small and keeping mid and bottom pairs in on the pretense that they will be able to call down cheaply for a showdown. Turn blank, pot 12BB, bet 5BB. this folds a load of other hands. River, blank, bet the pot. avoid playing for stacks, and all the time the consistent aggression will make a weak villan feel very much less inclined to call with single top pair than a single pot sized bet which is an unsustainable level of aggression if you dont want to stary playing for stacks by the turn. At $25nl I find this works MUCH more than a 'traditional' c-bet. |

This means you have to play your made hands the same way. I don't like it, but not only for that reason.

Ok, all I'm saying is it's had a lot of success against weak opponents.
Were you talking about the general idea or the example I gave? |

Youre basically running a 3 barrel stone cold bluff and your 2BB bet into an 8BB pot gives anyone odds to peel with just about anything. I dont like anything about it to be quite honest.
