it looks like a set. i might find a fold here. otherwise im calling and c/cing a smallish bet on the river.

Do you bet the same amount on flop and turn when holding KQ? I think turn is an easy fold unless your bet sizes are being seen as weakness. I think that if you call and are ahead you will win little or nothing more but if you're behind you will lose a lot more. I think the only hand you could be ahead of JK clubs, 89 clubs but even that is very unlikely. If he's an idiot he could have a lot more than that including any Q, AA, KK but I doubt he's that bad.

Yeah, after I folded, I thought about it and figured that all I could be beating in this case was a limped AA/KK or bottom 2

looks like he missed a LRR and has an overpair or set.
