Default Ameristar Casino St, Charles Trip Report

Spent the day at Ameristar with my wife and her friend. Nothing really new to report except they moved a bunch of machines from in front of the room for some tournament tables. It must have been some WPT satellite because the floor manager Karen seemed rly frazzeled and frankly was very short and quite the biotch about the whole waiting list. I really hate it when you go up to a floor desk and it takes them 60 seconds or more to even acknowledge you, only to give you a snooty "can I help you?"...oh well.

The Blackened Prime rib at the sports grill was pretty damn good for the price. Solid 8. The gift shop had some overproced CAO moontrace(?) cigars that were pretty good but obviously had been sitting in the humidor for a while.

I finally got called for the biggest game they had going at the time 4/8 ....even though there was a list to start 5/10 a mile long. I get a dream seat next to some donk with the donk standard rack of whites, and in the 4 seat the woman who keeps saying: "If my husband knew I was playing this 69o he'd kill me....but it's my favorite hand, I always win with it!....no seriously I ALWAYS win with it." [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] One of the dozens of daily locals was on my right and we talked about the Goodlatte bill and we never really crossed paths in a pot. It was a strange session overall, I won only 3 hands in about 3.5 hours....and they were all the kill pot. Weird.

Nothing overly exciting here. I enjoyed it, ordered more drinks instead of playing crap hands.....OK drink service (bit on the slow side) Manhattans were so-so and on the skimpy side considering I actually have to pay for them....bu tthen again im in central illinois....I'l take what I can get.

Im probably going to be spending a lot more time here....Ive cut the drive down to about 1.5 hours if its during non-primetime driving hours in St. Louis...I just need to play the bigger games (when they have them going) so gas money doesnt seem nearly as much....I made about the same amount I put in the gas tank. God I miss Vegas.....

Nice! I was at Ameristar late Sunday night (actually Monday morning) and stayed until about noon on Monday. A full trip report is beyond my mental capacity right now, but plenty of 1/2 NL douchebaggery did occur.

A Central Illinois Magoofest is just begging to happen.

Good to hear that kill pots have finally migrated across the state from KC. Maybe someday I'll get to take advantage of that.

Have there been any trip reports on this? I knew they had a new room but Ameristar usually had better limit games...has this changed? What are they spreading on a regular basis right now?

I stopped in there one Saturday night when I was in town and thought the place was a joke. I found the same thing you did with the rude floor personel. Highest limit they had going was a $1-$2 $300 max NL game and they won't let you buy more than $500 in chips every hour or something like that. WTF? Next time I'm in town, I'd rather play bingo than set foot in that place again.

The buffet is solid, had a mega eat-my-face-off event there last summer, after a donktactular 3/6 session. Only been there once, but found it ok.
