Re: Check or value bet here?
I think you need to bet more on the turn.
I probably bet this river. That jack might have helped him, but it most likely only gave him two pair at best. |

Re: Check or value bet here?
Against this opponent, I bet this every time. Why the overbet on the flop?

Re: Check or value bet here?
Overbetting the pot then underbetting the turn seems really weird, just pot it each time.

Against this opponent, I bet this every time. Why the overbet on the flop? Dumle [/ QUOTE ] I forgot to put it in the original post that the 10 on the flop was by accident. The party poker chip moving thing is pretty sensetive and I accidently made it 10, and because of playing 6 tables I didnt have a 2nd glance to see what i was betting, I usually type in my bet amounts. My standard play is to bet just under the pot here, so my bet would of been $6 on the flop had I been paying more attention. |

Re: Check or value bet here?
What happened here was i made a quick decision to check the river intending to call thinking there are a lot of better 2 pr combinations out there as well as str8 possibilities. He had K10 and I won the pot. I immediatley thought I made a very bad check and cost myself an extra $40 (becasue am pretty sure he wld of called that on the river).
I wanted to post this hand to make sure I wasn't thinking I made a terrible check based on the outcome of the hand and that it actually was a bad check. |

Re: Check or value bet here?
The basic rule is : If you are out of position and your hand is worth a call you should bet if your opponent is calling with more hands than he is betting with.
This is standard situation where this rule applies and its very easy bet on the river. Check is in fact terrible. |

Re: Check or value bet here?

bet 40, if he calls great, if he raises fold |

Re: Check or value bet here?
Check/calling the river here doesn't really make much sense.
Most hands that you beat will check behind, but several of them will call you. No hand that beats you is checking behind. There are very few draws, and thus, very few hands to induce a bluff from. ~$40 sounds right. |
