Getting large amt of cash to Vegas

Hello,

I will be in Vegas during the WSOP, and want to play the bigger side games (100/200 LHE and up). I'm thinking that having about 30k cash would be nice, but I'm from Europe and I have no idea how to get the cash there. Also, is it possible to get a safety box or something in casinos?

Contact the casino and you could wire the money to a personal account there.

I usually think "pocket" is the best answer to these posts but 30k is a lot and his flight is international, so I think it probably isn't this time. However, if he were putting it in his pocket, it would be much better to convert it to 500-euro-bills for the flight than $100's.

I can't imagine customs would be very happy to see someone carrying $30k in cash. Wire it.

This should be in the FAQ as it's the same thread each week but ok - here's the quick version.

1) Call the Bellagio and ask to speak to the cage

2) Tell them you want to play high stakes poker there and need to wire money - they will provide wiring instructions

3) Go to bank - wire money

4) At the end of the trip, they will wire it back or cut you a check

You can do it, but you *MUST* fill out the right forms. Daniel has an entry in his blog from a couple months back about being seriously hassled by the feds when he was heading to the islands to play a tourney. He did it all by the book, but they still gave him serious grief, apparently holding up this international flight while a lot of humorless feds tried to figure out some way to arrest him or confiscate the money. In the end, they let him get on the flight with the cash.

So yeah, for international stuff, I think wire in and wire out sounds particularly good.
