Default Cracking the \"Warrior Code?\" Trout Hand

From last night's Trout-o-rama. Give me your thoughts on flop and turn. I'm curious how you would play it if you were the villain and held A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

This hand did go to the mat, but I don't want to reveal the river card or results just yet.

Skier-5(t3590)
SeaSiren.xo (t985)
Hypotron (t2490)
CodeWarrior (t5020) - SB
The SlackMaster (t3150) - BB

Preflop: Hero is in BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">CO folds</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="red">SB raises to t450</font>, Hero calls t300

Flop: (t975) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (t975) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero?</font>

Can you explain what you were thinking when SB checked to you on the flop?

Bet $500 on the flop, fold to a reraise.

As played you might as well check behind and hope for a heart on the river, but you should have bet the flop for about 1/2 the pot.

I like betting the flop, the way you played it checking the turn and calling the river (unless you improve obv.) .

Folding to a reraise would be horrible with that much money in the pot.

Bet pot, call a riase or all-in. Just push the flop (though you're a little deep for that I guess). Whatever. But you pretty much have to bet it.

As played, I like checking the turn, and calling up to a pot-sized bet on the river (unless you hit a heart).

I had such good implied odds but no real hand. If I bet 500 and fold to a re-raise I lose all value. If I bet and he goes away, I lose all value.

Seeing a free card to hit an Ace or heart here was a good thing in my mind as he could stack me with too many hands that he could have raised with. I stood to lose more by re-opening the betting than I did by simply seeing a free card.

I'm assuming you know after the fact he has ATs. He's clearly on a draw.. why not bet half the pot and see where you are? He could have JTs for all you know, and a nice bet might convince him to stop chasing.

Could not the same thing be said for Villain? So far nobody has commented on how they would play A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in this spot.....

Of course he could. That's why I'd beat him to the punch, and lean on the ol' reliable "first in wins" theory.
