Default TT hand from a 109

Hero started with t2000 and now has t1650. 9 players left. Blinds 50/100.

3 folds.
10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raises to 300.
2 folds.
Villain calls.
SB folds.
BB calls.

Flop (t950) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero bets 500. Villain calls. BB folds.

Turn (1950) A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (doh!)
Hero reluctantly pushes.

I'm committed right? Thoughts on the flop bet?

if you are pot committed after betting the flop, then you shouldve pushed on the flop.

I disagree, but I want to hear other opinions. This is essentially the question I'm asking.

Looks fine. Agreed that you should not just push the flop even though you are comitting yourself, because pushing may cause some folds that you don't want.

your stack is barely bigger than the pot. What is calling 500 that isn't calling a push????? If anything, a push would get more calls IMO.

EDIT: by this I mean from hands that you beat like 77 or K8. Of course, anything that beats you is calling whatever you bet.

[/ QUOTE ] No, he's not. Its a matter of personal preference but raising here is entirely reasonable. Calling or folding here is actually problematic, IMO.

OP: On an almost ideal flop for you you bet nearly 40% of your stack into a pot that was ~2/3 the size of your stack. Personally, I am as interested in why you made the size bet you did as many others will be? I suspect somebody will also point out that pushing here will probably get calls from weaker hands that the bet of 500 will.

This is really the best argument for pushing. But I think there are definitely some hands that would call 500 but not a push. Remember there are 2 players, so for button to call a push he has to worry about BB. Is A9 calling a push (probably)? What about AK?
