If you told me you were trying to check/raise the river I'd like it a lot more. TAGs are the sort of player that can't resist a river value bet with any queen, K9, pocket pairs under kings, and maybe A7. He'd probably have let you know on the turn if he had a good king to charge you instead of offering a marginally free card by calling.
Ace high will sometimes get shown down, any pair six or higher is seeing showdown, etc, so I don't think there's a lot of value in inducing a bluff. Villain will check behind his marginal hands and a TAG doesn't have very many hands to bluff with once he calls the turn bet. But he has a lot of hands to pay you off when you fire again. |

Love preflop and flop.
I think him not raising the turn tells you an awful lot. The only hand that a) 3-bets PF, b) beats you on the river, and c) was trailing you on the turn is QQ. I agree... I think the value gained in inducing a bluff is lost by the immediate value realized by bet/call'ing the river. |
