Re: Fold trip 5s?
Don't fold. Why didn't you bet the turn? Atleast call the turn. See what happens on the river.

Call. The river's an ace. He bets 20 more. Call again?

Re: Fold trip 5s?
Bet this flop, hope to get raised, 3 bet big. Then bet turn all in no matter what. You're ready to get broke to one of his 10 combos of A5/57/77, so play like it on flop.
As played, call turn and play poker on river. |

Re: Fold trip 5s?
What range do you put him on to call my flop raise? I was thinking A5, flush draw, or maybe 65, 99 etc.
When the flush hit, I just feel like I'm behind his range. Thus the check. |

Re: Fold trip 5s?
your goal is to misplay every street post flop?
lead flop. after you check, you cant raise and then plan to check/fold the turn. as played, call turn and re-evaluate river, usually check/call. the way you played/are playing this hand you are asking to get pushed off the best hand or outdrawn while minimizing what you win when you have the best hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] How is leading the flop, better than check-raising when he has the flush draw? I'm pretty sure I got more into the pot when I had the best hand than I would if I had led out. |

Re: Fold trip 5s?
check/raising shuts out the field when you would like calls from random one pair hands, it gives away your hand, and it leaves you in an awkward position when you get called. otherwise it's good.

Re: Fold trip 5s?
Leading this flop doesn't tell your opponents much about your hand, other than you like it.
C/R basically screams "i have a 5". If you want to let your opponents play correctly, and win a small pot, C/R is the way to go. I assume you don't want that. |
