anyone find a call here?
Not much of a read on villain. He is 35/16/3 over 30 hands. I have not been getting too many cards recently and my image is probably pretty good.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter Button ($206.45) SB ($116.11) BB ($204.55) UTG ($165.60) MP ($163.50) Hero ($310.95) Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. UTG raises to $7, 1 fold, Hero raises to $21, 3 folds, UTG calls $14. I can't find or not find a call because I wouldn't be in the situation. . . . push the turn.

Re: anyone find a call here?
First off just because you havn't been playing many hands does not equate with you having a "good" image. Maybe tight but that is far from the same. Infact because you have a tight image, your opponnents can exploit that with aggression torward you. Secondly, why did you check behind him on the turn? Were you 'mixing' up your play? Did you think he had a 3? A check there sets you up to bluffed on the river. Now on the river your guessing. Did he hit two pair? Straight? Flush? Trips? Fill up? To top it off, his all in bet is not out of the ordinary. It's a pot sized bet so you can't read into it. It offers no clues by itself.
Now to examine the range of hands he has...he raised preflop from UTG and called a reraise OOP. He called your flop which he might have done with anything seeing as how you could be doing a standard continuation bet there. The turn would have defined his hand with a bet from you. But for him to commit the rest of his chips (he had already committed 33% so he could feel committed) his holdings would have to be 99,TT,QQ,AQd,AJd,A10d or AA to beat you. If he thought you were doing a standard continuation bet than with 99 he probably leads out on the turn not to miss a bet. AA would be odd considering the passive play all the way through to till the river. TT as well probably would have been bet in the thinking that you might have an overpair and will pay him off. There is no reasonable straight holding he could call your flop with. So he has one of the flush combinations or hit a set on the river or is bluffing. That is 4 possible holdings. With your check on the turn you gave the impression that you hold AK. A bluff here sounds more than reasonable from him. Hold your breath and call. |
