Since you have mentioned it I wish I had.

Whats so special about this? This is an easy push at this stage of the tourney. Your +EV against even the most conservative ranges. Your not going to get a better hand than AK before you get blinded away. Lemme guess you pushed and lost? Happens...but your push WAS the right play.

I'm too stupid to answer your question correctly but I do want to comment. Pushing is the only thing to do here right? Nobody's folding here, the raiser knew he was committed. What else is there to do?

I hope you stopped-and-went. [/ QUOTE ] Isn't AK considered too strong to stop and go? Villian is only folding a weaker hand after the flop and you are missing out on the full double up. |

AKo is happy to get allin. Stop and go doesn't make enough money off Ax which is a very likely hand you can be up against here.
Unless you KNOW that villain is super tight in this spot (approx. top 5%) AND think you have a great chance of stealing blinds in future rounds, getting allin here is hugely +$EV. |

I hope you stopped-and-went. [/ QUOTE ] I don't like a stop-n-go here at all. Basically, if you opponent catches any piece of the flop he's justified in calling you since he's getting good odds. Any hand that folds to your flop bet is a hand that was behind you preflop anyway, so you're basically costing yourself those extra chips. As it is, you're short enough compared to all the other stacks that I don't mind taking a chance to double up here. |

I initially thought that this would be a good spot for a stop and go but others have made it clear that pushing is superior.

[/ QUOTE ] Although...........if villain has a small-medium pair, perhaps a stop and go would give you much more FE if you both miss the flop. And I don't think most would lay down a weaker ace if one flopped. I'm back to the stop and go! But I still have not perfected it's use (clearly). More thoughts? |
