Default Will WSEX last over a year?

I asked them if rake-free poker was here to stay, because I truly believe it is too good to be true.

They replied,

"Dear Sir,

The status of our rake back structure will be up for revision in a year, at that time we will made a decision if it is indeed a profitable venture for us,

Best Regards
Carol"

I don't know...should I spend a little money in the sportsbook to maybe help give them an incentive to keep offering rake-free?

I think they gooofed...They should of taken rake but given it all back in jackpots, bonus signups, money added tournaments, high hands, AA beats...Whatever...That's the way to draw in the fish and recreational players...To target the "aware" gang..players who understand the rake? That's not going to work...and by what ive read..It hasnt.

Yes please do, I have bet a little just because they will measure how much and how many pokerplayers bet sports.

I have bet on a few soccermatches, and only when WSEX offered best odds.

Found the best odds on betbrain.com

I am betting sports on their site using the same logic that my action could partly help them keep the rake-free thing going.

If you were to take all 100% of the rake-back you receive and randomly bet it on sports-games then you will still be getting 90-95% of it back (for the most part)...meaning you are still getting 90% rake-back.

I consider myself a bit more knowledgeable on sports than that and think I can almost break-even on the sports anyway.

I am even betting on sporting-events on WSEX where I am directly looking at better odds on other sports-betting sites like Pinnacle.
But if it's only off by a couple pennies than my action will go to WSEX. If Pinnacle's is WAY better then I'm betting over there. And sometimes I've been able to get a better line on WSEX anyway.

I do believe that the more poker-players who bet sports (or other games like horse-racing, blackjack, whatever), the better chance they will remain rake-free.

I don't see how WSEX can possibly lose any money by going this route. The personel they use are the same ones running the Sports book, so there are really no added costs.

With all the competition out there, WSEX HAD to do something unique if they wanted to be a recognized in the online gambling community. They made a shrewd marketing move by offering no rake instead of bonuses etc. because everybody else offers that stuff. This distinction is absolutely crucial in advertising.

Also, when the promotion just started, there were about 500 people in the poker room during peak time. Now there are 1500. A 200% increase is quite good. I have done some sports betting for the first time in my life since joining too. I am sure many others have as well.

The trend will just continue to go upwards. It may not be as fast as we would like it, but patience will pay off for everyone involved.

I have done some sportsbetting myself, but their not good at european soccer games! Looks like their better on american sports...

Whatever, I will support, I was a marginal loser at sunpoker, now I do better with no rake! I can afford some -EV games when my future of poker looks brighter:P!

Sometimes, I'll open a few 5/10 6-max games on Party and randomly mention WPEX. For the most part, people seem intrigued. They ask me for more info, and I'll explain what WPEX is. Then I tell them that they shouldn't play anywhere else, and that they should tell their friends. I think that, if the word gets out, people WONT have a reason to play elsewhere, and WPEX will have a larger share of the market that will keep increasing. At least that's what I hope. I think that if we tell enough people, the masses will leave the big sites, and companies like Party and Pokerstars will start to [censored] their pants because they cannot offer a better product. End result is WPEX lives on. My 2 cents

There is some contradiction in numbers. If WSEX poker will grow, their costs (support, processor fees, bandwidth, fraud) will increase. Just betting the amount of rake back on sports (as Microbob suggests) with 10% WSEX profit margin won't cover their costs, and that assumes most of tpoker players betting all their rake back, which they won't.

So growing poker numbers without increasing percentage of poker players betting on sports or playing BJ may force WSEX to drop 100% RB sooner than later.
